Aum is the ancient sound and vibration that reverberates through all of existence. It is evident in all living things and in Sanskrit translates as “Source” – it is what ties us together as sisters since we are united as one and share in each other’s life experiences on a level of mass consciousness. When chanted, this sacred mantra can be incredibly calming as it activates different centers throughout the body and encourages healing.
Aum represents the three fold division of time: A- is the waking state; U- is the dream state, and M- is the state of deep sleep. At the end of Aum there is a pause or silence known as Turiya, or Infinite Consciousness.
Aum tunes us in with all of humanity, nature, and spirit. In addition, chanting aum can have immediate and positive effects on the nervous system, calming the mind and allowing for improved relaxation and meditation.
Aum is my absolute FAVORITE anchor for anxiety. An anchor is something that brings us back to our focus point when our mind seems to wander from worry to worry. Take a breath, meditate using “aum” for 1-2 minutes. I will teach you how to do this.
Believe it or not, this simple ritual of chanting aum can bring great peace and clarity to your life. Give it a try!
Incorporating this simple mantra into your daily routine can allow you to create time and space for healing as the Aum Goddess that you are.
